Wendy Jans opens with solid win
The Ladies Champion Wendy Jans recorded a quick 3-0 win over Poland’s Dalia Alska in Group A as she aims to defend the title she won in Poland last year. It was the first of three Group A matches to finish with Russia’s Irina Gorbataya recording a 3-0 victory over Romania’s Monica Manolache soon after.
The final match of the group to finish was that between England’s Vicky Carter and Germany’s Stefanie Teschner with the English player running out a 3-1 winner to get her tournament off to a great start in what looks like a tough group.
