Statecnzy keeps the pressure on Sirotina
Germany’s Diana Stateczny has just picked up her third win of the tournament with a 3-1 victory over Manon Melief from the Netherland’s. Diana lost the first frame to the dutch player but won the next frame with ease before winning a close third frame to go 2-1 ahead.
The German then took the final frame 51-8 to win the match and keep the pressure on last years semi finalist Daria Sirotina who also picked up her third win this morning.
Sirotina lost the first frame against Ukrainian Maria Bucharska but eventually ran out a 3-1 winner despite some great play by Bucharska. Sirotina and Stateczny both face each other in their next match on Friday and the winner should go on to top the group.
Also in this group this morning Bulgarian Monika Metodieva picked up her first win of the tournament thanks to a 3-0 victory over Hungary’s Mónika Vantara-Stenócz
Poland’s Weronika Nowicka was also in action this morning in Group B and she defeated Ukraine’s Aleksandra Serova 3-0 to get her first win on the board.
