Scotland one step away from 3 out of 4
Scotland’s Ross Muir and Michael Collumb won their best of 7 Frames quarterfinals matches and can face each other at the best of 9 Frames Frand Final match of the Men’s competition in this 2023 EBSA European Snooker Champioships next Saturday March 18th starting 6 p.m.
After Jack Borwick’s won the U16 competition and Liam Graham’s the U21’s competition, now Scotland dreams about making it 3 out of 4 in St. Paul’s Bay Dolmen Hotel. They’re one step away, after this Friday afternoon’s quartefinals, in which the 2 Scotland competitors prevailed: but they still have to win at the best of 7 Frames semifinals matches, to be played also next Saturday, starting at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
This Friday, Ross Muir claimed victory in the quarterfinals facing Israel’s Shachar Ruberg in the decider (4-3) and Michael Collumb prevailed also in the decider facing Ireland’s Brendan O’Donughue: the chance of a 100 per cent Irish semifinal in Malta ended up here.
On the other 2 quarterfinal matches in Malta, Ireland’s Ross Bulman prevailed facing 2018 european snooker champion, England’s Harvey Chandler, claiming victory by 4 Frames to 1. The same score as Finland’s Robin Hull registered facing Latvian Rodion Judin in the last match of this round.
Saturday, Ross Muir will face Robin Hull at 10 a.m. in semifinal 1 and Michael Collumb faces Ross Bulman in semifinal 2, starting 1 p.m.
