Stephens sets the standard on Day Three
England’s Lee Stevens has played immaculate snooker so far here in the VidaMar Resort, winning four group matches without dropping a single frame. So far Stephens has had 3-0 wins over Northern Ireland’s Anthony Heaney, Austria’s Gary Balter, David Gauthier from France and Hungary’s Csaba Toth.
The wins certainly place Stephens up with a good chance of being a top seed going into the Last 32 of the Tournament.
In the Seniors event there are some well known names qualified into the Knockout Stages of the last 45 players which will start at 8pm on Sunday the 13th of October.
Included in that list are: Darren Morgan, Gary Milne, Wayne Browne, Lee Stephens, Alex Borg, Gary Thompson, Pascal Tollenaere, Gregory Cooke, Maris Volajs and Philip Ciantar.
In the Ladies event there have been some very impressive performances. As always dominating the table Tess Davidson who has played incredible snooker throughout the season. The English star has been pretty unbeatable as David son has won 11 of her last 12 Tournaments and in the one event she didn’t win she was the runner up, which teels you a little bit about the current state of her game at the moment.
Other Ladies qualified into the Knockout stages are Anja Vandenbussche, Diana Statezny, Izabela Łącka, Rebecca Kenny and Dalia Alska.
