Championships Official opening ceremony

This 2023 EBSA European Snooker Champinships opening ceremony will take place this Saturday starting 7 p.m. at the St. Paul’s Bay Dolmen Hotel before the Men’s competition, with 177 players trying to succeed Estonian Andres Petrov as european champions on the race for the crown.

EBSA Chairman Maxime Cassis will do the honors

EBSA Chairman Maxime Cassis, but also EBSA General Secretatry, Simon Smith, as the EBSA Vice-President Ricardo Salgado and Malta Billiards and Snooker Association Ivan Brincat will welcome all the competitors to Malta before the kick-off of the best of 5 Frames round-robin matches at the Men competition on Sunday March 12, and while the U21 championship is close to it’s end, with only the semis and the Grand Final still to be played on Sunday.

The ceremony will start at 7 p.m. at the main venue in St. Paul’s Bay Dolmen Hotel

Attending the ceremony is SportMalta CEO Mark Cutajar. Occasion to explain also all the rules and give the competitors the last explanations about any doubts that they might still have in a mega European Snooker Championships which, with U16, U18 and U21 competitions added, gather 500 people from 41 different countries doing their best: 420 players, 41 referees and about 30 officials are here always to help in any impredictable situation.

Expectations are high and the dream is about to begin for all the competitors. Also the occasion for Malta to celebrate such a huge european gathering in style: everyone who came here, for sure, will comeback.
