The EBSA are delighted to host it’s first Disability rEuropean Championships at the VidaMar Resort on the Algarve next week. This will be an excellent and prestigious event with high standards of Snooker with European Champion titles up for grabs.

The EBSA Disability European Championships will be played from the 19th of October until the 23rd of October.

Group 1 + 2 – Wheelchair players

Disability Snooker events are split into classification groups based on the players disability matching a profile in its classification system https://www.wdbs.info/classification/ . So, it becomes 8 smaller competitions within the one event, each having its own winner and runner up

Group 3 – 4 Events. Ambulant players who cannot make a traditional bridge (play with one arm or impaired bridge hand.

Group 4 –Ambulant players where one or more lower limbs is absent or severely impaired. (above know amputees, cerebral palsy etc)

Group 5 – Ambulant players where one or more upper or lower limbs are slightly impaired (includes people of very short statue, below knee amputees, severe to moderate weakness in trunk)

Group 6A – Intellectual – IQ under 75, need support with day to day living, age of onset before the age of 18)

Group 6B – Players who have a neurodevelopmental disorder e.g. Autism spectrum disorder and/or Players who have a neurological condition, e.g. acquired brain injury

Group 7 – Visual impaired players (have one functioning eye or eye impairment in line with British Blind Sport classification levels)

Group 8 – Deaf (Loss of over 55 decibels in good/best ear)
