184 Players battle it out for victory in the European Championship here in Sarajevo.
The record entry of players entered for this year’s Men’s European Championship is 184, which is a staggering new record for participation at a European snooker event.
There is 46 groups of four players and two players from each Group will progress to the last 96 Knockout Stages. It is early days yet in the Championship with most players having only played one match, but after today it will become a little clearer who will emerge.
The newly crowned European U21 Champion Liam Davies will not play in the Men’s Championship. Originally entered for the event the new Champion said he would not like to play in the Men’s event as he felt it was the right thing to do.
Today and Tomorrow is fully packed with Group games and on Thursday the Knockout Stages begin in the last 96 and the last 64 matches. On Friday the 22nd of March at 10am will be the last 32 matches, followed at 2pm with the last 16 matches and at 6pm there will the Quarter Final matches.
Saturday will see the semi finals and the European Snooker Championship Final where one player will become the Continents newest Champion and Main Tour Card holder to join the WST.
