Milne and Brown run over Scotland in Day 1 of the Seniors
England 1 and Belgium 1 were the only teams to win 5:0 in opening session of the 2023 European Seniors Team Championships in Albena (Bulgaria). Individual event runner-up Gary Milne and bronze medalist Wayne Brown whitewashed Scotland to go atop Group C.
In the other match of Group A, Malta 1 (Alex Borg/Duncan Bezzina) beat Belgium 2 4:1 with Patrick Geysels preventing the clean sweep by potting the black in frame 4 against Borg.
Belgium 1 (Pascal Tollenaere/Peter Bullen) downed Italy 5:0 to lead in Group B where Malta 2 got better of Wales 2 3:2.
And in Group A Wales 1, comprised of the individual event medalists (Darren Morgan and Philip Williams) won the first four frames against Germany before Miro Popovic knocked 54 to salvage the session.
