Marathon man Brown marches on after a six-hour battle
It took him five hours and 55 minutes but Wayne Brown finally saw off Lee Stephens to reach the quarterfinals of the 2023 European Senior individual Championships in Albena (Bulgaria). In a match, filled with protracted safety battles, Brown managed breaks of 55, 49, 41 and 48 to come from two-frames down and win 4:3.
After a brief pause the Englishman went back to the table to face Mark Tuite (Ireland). While they were still warming up Darren Morgan completed a 4:0 demolition of Peter Bullen (Belgium).
In the opposite half of the draw Gary Milne (England) beat Craig Barber (Scotland) 4:0 and will face the winner of the all-Welsh quarterfinal between Lee Walker and Philip Williams.
