Superb comeback by Allen
Gareth Allen produced a great comeback to beat Ireland’s Jason Devaney 4-3 here this afternoon in Sofia. Allen started well taking the first frame with a 62 break only for Devaney to take the next three with ease to take a commanding lead.
Last years finalist however stole the 5th frame and then knocked in a great 80 break to level the scores. Allen then ran out a comfortable winner in the last 76-28 to take the match and top spot in the group.
Devaney finsihes 2nd with Austria’s Markus Pfistermüller in third and Denmarks Lasse Petersen completes the line up for the knockout stages.
