89 players ready for Malta
The 2015 European Under-21 Championships will get underway in the Dolmen Hotel, St.Pauls Bay, Malta on Saturday 21st of March where we will see 89 of Europe’s finest battle it out for the title and his or her place on the pro tour. Yet again the best young talent converge for this superb event and we are back in Malta after 4 years absence since Kacper Filipiak took the title back in 2011.
Kacper is back again this year with a strong 6 man Polish team which includes the very experienced Stefanów, Baranowski and Masłowski. They will have their work cut out to bring the title back to Poland this time as we have some very strong English, Welsh and Scottish squads this year which includes the likes of Jamie Clarke, Dylan Craig and Rhys Clarke among others who are very experienced at this level are doing well on the pro ranks also this season.
Last years runner up Josh Boileau will be right up there amongst the favorites as he aims to go further this year and claim his permanent spot on the tour after several wild card invites this season. Other threats will come from the likes of Shachar Ruberg from Israel, Lukas Kleckers from Germany and Andres Petrov from Estonia who all done well last year.
All in all it should be a fantastic advertisement for the future of the snooker in Europe and come Thusday the 26th of March we will have one deserving youngster who will be crowned European Under-21 Champion for 2015.
