Veteran Nitschke into the Shoot Out semis
It took him three events but Marcin Nitschke is finally through to the semifinals of the 2023 European Championships in Albena (Bulgaria). The Polish veteran is among the last four vying for the Shoot Out crown after beating Ismael Turker (Turkiye) 41:24.
Nitschke compiled a solid 40 break to move ahead by 23 points with less than four minutes remaining and promptly switched to solid defense to deny his opponent any chance of a comeback.
Iulian Boiko was the heaviest scorer of the quarterfinals. The former tour pro made a break of 55 to knock out Frenchman Brian Ochoiski 63:8.
The semifinals were completed with two wins for Israel – Eden Sharav beat Chris Peplow (Malts) 50:9 while Shachar Ruberg eliminated Mateusz Baranowski (Poland) by a score of 35:9.
